Buddy : Thoughts

My favorite character in LISA is Buddy, and to be honest, I have no clue why people hate her. She was raised as, as far as we know, one of the last girls in Olathe. She 100% deserves to feel hurt for how she was treated during the course of Painful and Joyful. Men all over Olathe wanted to hurt her and use her for their own. If that doesn't warrant her anger I don't know what does.

in Joyful, Buddy was not really portrayed as the best in many people's eyes, apparently. I personally totally love and agree with her rage but her story could have been a bit more thought out. Even knowing how much she distrusts the men, I don't think she would be so harsh towards everybody . Especially seeing how Rando acts, I don't believe she would be so harsh on him, though at the same time Brad was just... A kinda awful dad. From that, I can see why she acts the way she does in Joyful.

Brad treated Buddy awfully. I understand he wanted to protect her but GOD. Brad could have done so, so much better. Part of the story of this game is about breaking the cycle of abuse, though. and luckily, Buddy does so, showing with her theme song, "Buddy's Theme". The theme is obviously much different from the tracks Father's Call or Sireen's Call as stated by a Youtube user in the comments of Buddy's theme. The leitmotif which is present throughout both Father's Call and Sireen's call is missing from Buddy's theme, representing the breaking of the cycle and moving on, with her raising a child of her own at the end.

Whether this child ends up happy or not is left vague but I like to think that this is Buddy's chance to treat somebody better than people treated her, and i think that's really nice. Despite Joyful overall, the bittersweet ending is amazing, and a great finale to the series.

a new game would be cool though... not totally necessary but like... austin, i just want to see more of this world you made its so cool.
